What is low sodium white corundum?
From the words meaning,many persons will think low sodium white corundum is just the white corundum with low sodium.In fact,it is very wrong to judge it only depending on the percentage of sodium.
Real low sodium white corundum is really different from the normal white corundum from smelting.
The low sodium aluminum oxide smelted in an ordinary dumping furnace only has a slightly lower sodium content,not the real low sodium white corundum.
The low sodium white corundum from our factory is smelted longer time with Al2O3:99.8%min and Sodium 0.15%max.
The sizes 0-1mm 1-3mm 3-5mm 5-8mm 200mesh 325mesh of low sodium are mostly used in high grade refractory field,high-grade sagger, etc.with high thermal stality,no cracking and no powdering.
The Al2O3 of macrogrits F12-F220 of low sodium white corundum is about 99.85%.because it has high hardness and good toughness,low sodium white corundum is usually used in high grade ceramic grinding wheels,abrasive tools etc.The grinding efficiency will be increased a lot if use with SG abrasives.
The Na2O of micropowder of low sodium white corundum is about 0.01-0.09%,which is mainly used in some high grade ceramic,coating,precision grinding and polishing etc.
